The Municipality of Santa Rita, under the leadership of Mayor Reynan S. Calo, marked the culmination of its National Women’s Month Celebration on March 31, 2026 through “LGU Women’s Day,” a whole-day activity focused on women and LGBTQIA+ empowerment.

The day began with a Women’s Walk and Zumba session. During the program, Police Captain Elsa Casupanan oriented LGU personnel on Republic Act 9710 or the Magna Carta of Women and Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act, as part of the Municipality’s information drive on women’s rights.

Municipal Administrator Earl Tongol distributed hygiene kits and localized IEC materials on Violence Against Women and Their Children (VAWC), translated in Kapampangan.
Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Jacqueline Quiambao led the provision of livelihood assistance to qualified members of the LGBTQIA+ and owners of beauty shops and salons.

A free make-up tutorial was also conducted for employees and participants through the support of SM City San Fernando Downtown, in coordination with SM Department Store Manager Caroline Uaje and Marketing Manager Camille Pastrana.

The initiative reflects the Municipality’s continued efforts to support inclusive programs and strengthen services for women and the LGBTQIA+ community in Bayung Santa Rita.
