Coming from a weekend of strong winds and heavy rains brought by Typhoon Uwan, Santa Rita stood resilient. Mayor Reynan Calo expressed gratitude for the town’s preparedness, recognizing the coordinated efforts of the MDRRMO, Barangay DRRMTs, MSWD, MHO, MOSG, MRF, BFP Sta. Rita, PNP Sta Rita, General Utility Services Group, Caloguran Center, and other offices that stayed on alert and on standby throughout the weekend to ensure community safety.

Mayor Calo also extended appreciation to DepEd Pampanga and Ma’am Emily Maninang for recognizing the Municipality of Santa Rita during the 2025 Stakeholders Convergence and Recognition. Under his leadership, Santa Rita was among the awardees, alongside Engr. Rosette Buan, Municipal Engineer, and Councilor Rico Sta. Cruz, Chairperson on Education.

He also acknowledged Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda for his continued support, as seen during the turnover of the new school building at V. de Castro Elementary School in Barangay Sta. Monica.

The National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill was also successfully conducted last week, reinforcing disaster preparedness among Ritenians.

Inspections and consultations on the public market were likewise carried out to discuss stall management, vendors’ concerns, and the planned reactivation of the Market Vendors Association through CSO accreditation.

Announcements were also made for the upcoming Duman Festival on December 6, and the Night Market every Friday and Saturday of December, including special days for Simbang Gabi.

As the week begins, Mayor Calo urged everyone to sustain the collective effort that has proven Santa Rita’s strength in times of challenge.
