The Municipal Agriculture Office has been actively monitoring the condition of local rice and vegetable farms since Sunday, November 9, as part of the LGUโs continuous assessment of Typhoon Uwanโs effects.
According to the Agricultural Extension Workers, most rice crops in Santa Rita have already been harvested, with around 20 hectares of standing rice showing slight to moderate damage due to strong winds and rains. Meanwhile, vegetable crops remain generally in good condition, though some vines were affected and are being rehabilitated.
For the ongoing duman season, roughly half of the fields were affected by the weather, but production and quality are still expected to remain stable. Monitoring and field validation continue in coordination with local farmers.
