Santa Rita once again celebrates the arrival of this year’s Duman harvest, a cherished symbol of the town’s rich agricultural heritage and community pride.
Under the leadership of Mayor Reynan Calo and through the efforts of the Municipal Agriculture Office, the Bayung Santa Rita Administration continues its commitment to preserve and strengthen Duman farming, ensuring that this unique Kapampangan tradition thrives for generations.
In the first few weeks of Mayor Reynan Calo’s administration, an executive order was released to ensure the preservation of the Duman legacy. By early October, over 20 local farmers were given assistance to continue cultivating this unique tradition.
This year’s production was made possible through the collective effort of local farmers, supported by the municipal government and the office of Former President and 2nd District Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
