Mayor Reynan Serrano Calo of Santa Rita, Pampanga is one of the youngest Mayors in the province. His story of “giving hope” is the very foundation of the new slogan for his hometown “Santa Rita – Balen ning Pag-Asa” or Home of Hope.

Reynan, affectionately called “Renan” by his family and friends, is considered as an epitome of generosity and helpfulness among Ritenians. His approachable personality is associated with his deep ties to his roots – his father having served as a government employee and his mother as a dedicated homemaker.

At a young age, Renan experienced challenges that made him understand that ‘hope’ resides in every person’s heart. During his childhood days, a great family loss made him appreciate the value of hope in life. He decided to move forward and create his own path to serve his “Calogurans” or loved ones. With a background in business and entrepreneurship, he has always been known for his generosity and passion to help others. Entering public service is undeniably the best life choice he made.

In 2019, he successfully won his initial bid for a seat in the municipal council and finished first among eight. On his second term, he also won and, once again, garnered the highest number of votes. During his term as Municipal Councilor, he served as chairperson for appropriations, senior citizens, human resources and education. Upon recognizing the need to fulfill his personal promise to expand the reach of his service to the whole municipality, he vied for the mayoralty post and won in 2025.

His platform of governance encapsulated in the “Bayung Santa Rita” battle cry includes priority programs on General Governance, Social Services (Health, Education and Environment), Economic Development, Sectoral Programs and developing Santa Rita into a Livable Heritage Lifestyle Hub in the future.

Aside from starting his first term as the 12th Mayor of Santa Rita, Pampanga, he is a loving husband to Louella Calo and a father to Ileana, Lauren, and Laena.
